Teacher Workshops
Understanding and Applying the Framework for Teaching
Teacher workshops are strongly recommended for schools and districts implementing the Framework for Teaching as a way to communicate the program system-wide. Two days of workshops focus on understanding and applying Charlotte Danielson’s Framework for Teaching, including strategies for implementing the Teacher Tools and conducting self-assessments, peer observations, and individualized professional development plans.
Teachers learn how to:
- Apply Danielson’s theory of professional practice to their classrooms, including planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities
- Assess and chart their own professional and pedagogical growth within the framework
- Use the iObservation system and Teacher Tools through hands-on learning experiences
- Access the on-demand professional development resources
It is strongly recommended that all participants obtain a copy of Charlotte Danielson’s book, Enhancing Professional Practice, A Framework for Teaching, as background reading in preparation for the sessions.
