Marzano Causal Teacher Evaluation Model

Dr. Marzano has built onto his previous work with the Art and Science of Teaching Framework, which encompasses almost five decades of research on teaching and learning strategies. With a focus on developing teachers in the classroom, the new Marzano Causal Teacher Evaluation Model establishes the direct cause and effect relationship between teaching strategies and student achievement that helps teachers and leaders make the most informed decisions that yield the greatest benefits to students. The causal model uses a unique granular evaluation approach by offering very specific feedback to teachers on teaching strategies that have been validated by years of data analysis.

The Marzano Causal Teacher Evaluation Model is organized into four domains consisting of 60 elements that build on each other to support growth, with a focus on Domain 1: Classroom Strategies and Behaviors. The model as a whole creates an innovative framework for evaluation to support professional development and performance of teachers.

iObservation is the only technology system with exclusive access and approval to digitize this new Causal Model. iObservation empowers teachers and leaders to respond to evaluation data in ways that develop professional growth to positively affect student achievement.
